MJ & The Progression are Adelaide’s premiere ‘pop-jazz’ ensemble, bringing audiences fantastic arrangements of popular songs transformed into swing and contemporary jazz styles and jazz classics into modern musical styles.
Led by the strong and sultry vocals of Mary-Jane (MJ) Hendry, whose flair for visual design and fashion statements creates a look and style for each of the unique shows that the band puts on.
MJ is backed by the solid rhythm section of Stephen Stone, David Bentley, and Tom Stehlik, who know how to lay down the groove - be it jazz, swing or funk they’ll really get your toes tapping.
The band is augmented by a three-piece horn section comprising Andrew Vince, David Fletcher, and Steve Turner who add colour, excitement and a big brass sound to the line-up.
