A man in SWAT gear on a phone speaks to a woman in SWAT gear on the phone. They are back to back at the front of a bus near the driver.
A man in overalls holds a woman in SWAT gear hostage with a bomb. Another man, also in SWAT gear, aims a replica gun at the hostage-taker. In the background is a red and white bus and a crowd of people watching.

Speed: The Movie, The Play

Comedy • Immersive

Pop quiz, hot shot. There's a bomb on a bus. If it drops below 50 miles an hour, it'll explode. What do you do? What do you do?!

Jump onboard our vintage bus for this shameless comedic homage to the 1994 action thriller 'Speed'. It's a high-octane, low-budget comedy that proves once and for all the best drama is on public transport.

Warning: contains Hollywood(ish) special effects and jokes about Keanu Reeves’ career.

★★★★ "Rollicking good fun, cleverly conceived and wonderfully enacted." The West Australian.

★★★★ "It’s a fast-paced and decidedly lo-fi show, which adds to the charm of it." Artshub.

"Pure, unadulterated fun...like being a kid in a toy store." The Creative Issue.

"Hysterial...a roller coaster ride." TheatreHaus.

"A great night out." Scenestr.

Please note: This show takes place on board a vintage bus. It has narrow aisles, and access to the bus is via deep stairs. Movement around the spaces inside and outside the bus happens throughout the show. If you have specific access requirements, please contact FringeTix.
