Southern Sounds - The beautiful music of the southern Adelaide region can be compared to the beautiful imagery of the coast. The exposed reef, the clean blue ocean and the blue skies are the perfect setting to showcase the talent of the south!

Southern Sounds

Music • Folk
South Australia • Adelaide Fringe Premiere

Some of South Australia's best original solo musicians come from the south of Adelaide.  The Sunday afternoon and evening event of February 27th is set in the beautiful Arts Centre in Noarlunga and celebrates five of the most talented musicians in the region.  Coming together for the show will be Tilly Tjala Thomas, Loren Kate, Jen Lush, Nick Vulture and Steve Ashley!  The songs of each of these singer songriters come from a deeply personal place and are fimly grounded in the folk music styling of storytelling, poetry, observation and life experience.  Take your place at this event and celebrate the talent of the south in an acoustically and aesthetically beautiful venue!

Presented by: NICHOLAS SCHUBERT

With this own solo acoustic venture, Nick Vulture moved into territory that couldn’t be any further removed from his roots in the garage punk scene with his band The Molting Vultures.

His melancholy acoustic folk is raw and stripped back to its very core. It taps into the dark emotions of a someone looking for new answers and questioning everything. His songs are personal but reflect the general fragility of the human condition with all of its uncertainty, its cruelty and its beauty.

Nick is a local on the 'mid coast' of the Fleurieu Peninsula and is a big supporter of the local music, arts and surfing scene. He is presenting this one day event to showcase the incredible talent in the region, with a long term view to build on local support for the talent in the south.
