Same Words

Music • LGBTQIA+
South Australia • Australian Premiere

Having moved to the United States for college and more recently to Australia, trans singer-songwriter Vincy reflects on their experiences of queer love and heartbreak, migration, political upheaval, and capitalism in this Australian debut, Adelaide Fringe-exclusive performance. The show promises an intimate and stripped-down experience, blending R&B and jazz-infused originals with personal storytelling. "Same Words" is not only a musical journey but also a poignant exploration of the challenges faced by individuals in expressing the intricacies of their identities and experiences.

Presented by: Vincy Chan

Vincy Chan is a trans creative born and raised in Hong Kong, currently based in Kaurna Yerta. He has taken his performances to numerous venues in Hong Kong as well as outside of his hometown (Kuala Lumpur, Berlin, Munich). They have shared the stage with Beninese superstar Angelique Kidjo, as well as Hong Kong’s queer icons Anthony Wong Yiu Ming, and the late Ellen Loo (at 17).
