Rob Newman in Don't Die Wondering

Rob Newman doesn't waste time. He started stand-up at 60 and brings raw, unfiltered comedy that destroys fear and lights a fire under your complacent arse. This isn't safe, sanitized comedy. It's a wake-up call from someone who knows time is precious and bullshit worrying is pointless. Newman delivers hard-earned wisdom wrapped in relentless humor that transforms how you think about living while there's still time. No medical symposium or pity party – just authentic comedy that finds the punchlines in life's biggest challenges. His unique perspective creates a show that's simultaneously hilarious and genuinely life-changing. "Book now," Newman warns with a wry smile. "I may not make it to the second night. No refunds." Limited season. Don't die wondering.

Rob Newman climbs Mount Lofty weekly, practices yoga religiously, and at 60, decided to become a comedian, because nothing says "sensible career choice" like starting stand-up when most people retire. After surviving a near fatal aortic dissection, ED doctors initial plan was “we’ll see if he’s still here in the morning.” Newman honed his philosophy: don't waste time on what-ifs. From his rural childhood (where he once set his father’s wood pile ablaze trying to build a steam train) to finding unexpected comedy inspiration during yoga meditation, Newman transforms life's absurdities into relentless humour. His unique blend of gallows humour ("I may not last till the second night—no refunds") and hard-earned perspective creates a show that's raw, authentic, and surprisingly life-affirming.
