Pushing the boundaries of music for the harp, the SA Celtic Harp Orchestra is an innovative contributor to the Adelaide music scene, presenting arrangements of music from classical, Celtic and contemporary to jazz, folk and Latin American. Formed in 2016 by Christine Morphett, who was inspired by harp orchestras of Ireland and Scotland, the ensemble is currently directed by acclaimed Adelaide harpist-singer Emma Horwood. Bringing together passionate players with a love of celtic music, the group have performed at the Fleurieu Folk Festival, the Irish Club, Scottish Fiddle Club, and have presented sold-out shows in the Adelaide Fringe Festival. The orchestra have also participated in workshops and concerts with visiting overseas harpists and create a unique soundscape of stunning strumming.
