Railway Bob
Featured in over 100 press cuttings from the period Bob the Railway dog rode the railaways of Australia in the 1880s & 90s.
Starting at Peterborough (SA) he travelled for 12 years on the railways, a favourite of the engine drivers and public alike. With no master as such he chose where he wanted to go and travelled to all corners of Australia via the railways. He finally retired to Hindley Street Adelaide where he lived his final years and like all good stories there is even mystery surrounding his demise.
Using puppetry, songs and storytelling theatre this show celebrates the remarkable Railway Bob, the intelligence and character of dogs in general and the pioneers who opened up Australia in the late 19th century. If you love dogs, history, trains and a good story this one's for you.
