About this event

Meet the glamour-merchants of the 1960s. Three genius songwriters who brought sparkle to our lives - Michel Legrand (Paris), Burt Bacharach (Los Angeles) and Antonio Carlos Jobim (Brazil). Settle back, relax and enjoy their glorious melodies in the sumptuous surrounds of Ayers House Ballroom. Shelley Dunstone (vocals) with Edward Heddle (piano).

Presented by:
Shelley Dunstone

Shelley Dunstone is an Adelaide cabaret performer who sings Bossa Nova, French chansons, jazz standards and pop songs. She has a particular affection for the music of the 1960s.

In October 2016 Shelley travelled to Brazil and performed with Brazilian friends at the iconic nightclub "Beco das Garrafas" ("Bottles Alley") in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. This was the top place for Bossa Nova artists to perform in the 1960s.

She has previously created and performed six original cabaret shows: "The Confessions of a Wannabe Bond Girl", "Adventures with a Brazilian", "Unbreak My Heart", "A French Romance", "Le grand Legrand" and "Lani 66".

Shelley likes to combine music with real-life stories and a dreamy touch of the surreal.
