Join us for an evening of soulful and joyful country, Americana classics and original music delivered through story and song.
Musicians Andrea Duff (keys and vocals) and Karl Zander (guitar, resonator, banjitar) present a musical anthology from the hearts of mothers and fathers as they reflect on their own musical influences.
The duo revisits the music of the Wonderland ballroom in post-war Adelaide; a mother's vintage sheet-music collection; an absent father's love of rockabilly in Mozambique; the universal trials of the 60s housewife and the meaning of home.

The Southern Byways is a talented duo comprising Karl Zander and Andrea Duff. Vocalist, Karl, has been playing music for almost 30 years and currently teaches guitar, ukulele and bass. Vocalist and trained journalist, Andrea, is studying piano and has written and performed in s two highly successful Fringe shows. The duo has been performing in venues around regional and metropolitan South Australia for the past four years and play regularly at Cafe Komodo.
Both have worked in the not-for-profit area and have supported people experiencing trauma. They have worked with refugees, prisoners and their families, veterans and people who are neurodiverse.
Each has a heart for community, country and Americana; a flair for performance; and a love of what they do.
