MoZzi X Inkatja: A New Moon 2023

A New Moon' is the second iteration of creator Dre Ngatokorua multimedia production MoZzi X Inkatja'.

This show takes the audience on a journey about Inkatja's life; a young girl on the mission, through Law and Law, to community leader as MoZzi tells the story through music, Traditional art projections, historical imagery and his unique narration. During this show, audience members will be immersed in the artwork of Lavene 'Inkatja' as her paintings inspired by Adnyamathanha culture are brought to life through floor-to-ceiling animations. This experience is paired with music and narration of Dre ‘MoZzi'. This project has multiple benefits, viewers will gain historic knowledge about the Stolen Generation and life at the Umeewarra Mission near Port Augusta in South Australia.

Dre 'MoZzi' Ngatokorua Wangkangurru | Adnyamathanha | Kuyani | Luritja | Deiri | Yankunytjatjara | Cook Island | Maori. Dre is a multifaceted artist and respected youth ambassador for his community and wider Port Augusta region. Drawing on his heritage, Dre creates interactive DJ sets under his MC moniker MoZzi. His show MoZzi x Inkatja was presented at the Adelaide Fringe in 2021 and 2022 and is now back for a one off show for 2023. Dre has been a frequent contributor to the Art Gallery of South Australia’s Neo program. He was recently featured on Triple J as part of the NAIDOC line-up. In 2022 Dre was the recipient of the Stevie “Gadlabarti” Goldsmith Memorial Award at the Arts SA Ruby Awards and last year named as one of InDaily 40 under 40.
