Experience the unexpected in this performance by Adelaide flutist Melanie Walters.
This recital for solo flute incorporates electronics, theatrical elements and spoken word. The music will include Modes of Transportation - an immersive work by Australian composer Victoria Pham; a new improvisatory work by Walters; Thea Musgrave's Orfeo I; and the Australian premiere of Polly Moller's Penelope for solo piccolo.

Presented by: Melanie Walters
Melanie Walters has been described as a “champion of new music in South Australia” (The Serenade Files), and her flute-playing as “truly exceptional” (The Advertiser).
She holds a PhD in flute performance, for which she received a Dean’s Commendation. She specialises in performing experimental and contemporary classical music, and has performed at the Bang on a Can Summer Festival, Musica Viva Sessions, COMA, and the Australian Flute Festival.
Melanie is the Artistic Director of the flute ensemble Coruscalia Collective, Principal Flute of the Adelaide Wind Orchestra, and President of The Flute Society of South Australia.
