Marvellous Music at Mary Mags 2024 presents three concerts showcasing the diversity of music making in Adelaide.

On Sunday 25 February, singers from St Mary Magdalene's and friends present "Songs of the Prophets." The Old Testament has many canticles, songs and lyrical passages that celebrate God's goodness and mercy. This concert features music from many eras, ancient and modern.

On Sunday 3 March, "Chants Encounters" celebrates plainchant, the quintessential form of liturgical music in most Christian traditions. The ensemble sings the Monastic hours of Terce, Sext and Nones to the ancient chants of the church.

On Sunday 10 March, popular community choir Voices in the Wilderness return with a program celebrating joy and sorrow, love and loss, and the delight of making usic together.

Presented by: St Mary Magdalene's Anglican Church

St Mary Magdalene's is an inner-city Anglican church, founded in 1886, whose mission and ministry is among the poor and marginalised people of the city. As part of our outreach into the city, we look for opportunities to meet the community in the widest variety of ways, from free community meals and direct referrals to support services to public lectures and workshops on contemporary issues for society and the churches. Our Fringe concerts draw on a strong tradition of fine music in the liturgy of this precious gem of a church, tucked away in a side street close to the heart of the city.
