Learning Indonesian with Om Tom
An inspiring and educational comedy show about how one man (Om Tom) learnt Indonesian by accident through the different episodes of his life. Like Slumdog Millionaire but all he won was how to order nasi goreng correctly. Delivered bilingually, 'Learning Indonesian with Om Tom' is not only a comedy show but an effort to build bridges between Indonesian and English-speaking communities.
Om Tom was born in Papua New Guinea, grew up in Australia, studied in Indonesia and has worked in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and East Timor. He's tried every language learning strategy, and turned all of them into jokes. In this show about how 'not' to learn a language, Om Tom shares his hilarious language learning journey, and provides the crowd with real language tools for their next trip to Bali.
Please note: This event has had a change in ticket pricing since the Adelaide Fringe Guide was printed.
