KIN
Rooted in Erin’s explorations of her Irish ancestry, KIN is an intimate and elemental new work-in-progress that presents a chorus of 5 powerful South Australian female vocalists in exploration of ancestral dislocation and grief, Australian cultural in-betweenness, the White Cultural Void, and the yearning to belong.
Searching for a meaningful inheritance beyond “footy, snags & Aussie larrikins,” KIN holds space for the weight of colonial history and shame, and the quiet rituals carried through women’s bodies.
Part music gig, part ritual, part movement, KIN weaves original songs and embodied movement into an evocative sonic world. Audiences are gently invited into shared song, echoing the rise of community choirs and sea shanty pub singing that reflect our collective longing for connection.
