Karen Houge: Dreamgirl
Karen Houge shares her experience of following Syrian refugees across Europe. Travelling with the mafia and getting arrested, and also witnessing firsthand how appearances affect the way we are treated.
Created with the help of the award-winning comedian Elf Lyons (Winner: Best Comedy, Adelaide Fringe 2024), Dreamgirl blends storytelling and audience interaction to challenge perceptions of trust. How it shapes us, how it’s tested, and how it can be rebuilt.
In a world of war and division, it offers a fresh look at how trust is built, broken, and repaired.
Dreamgirl is more than a show—it’s a conversation about the world we live in. Do you trust a stranger?
