Julius Caesar

Theatre and Physical Theatre • Performance

In this age of uncertainty, one thing is clear. Caesar will die, tonight.
The inevitable fate of this leader is real, it’s palpable. And you are invited to witness this extraordinary act of assassination.
Fresh from a sell out season in Melbourne, Essential Theatre bursts onto the Adelaide stage with Shakespeare’s timeless piece, Julius Caesar, directed by Fleur Kilpatrick.
This story will be told by six tenacious women as they explore a world driven by ambition, loyalty & betrayal.
Julius Caesar is a gateway into contemporary politics, conspiracy, retribution and tragic idealism.
In a time when political figures are either heroes or traitors, Julius Caesar remains an incredibly relevant exploration of human power and struggle.

“Essential Theatre’s female cast achieved what Shakespeare didn’t. I am sure he would have applauded” G McCoubrie Melbourne Observer.

“This fast paced and lusty production will excite and delight” Sarah W The Plus Ones.
