This show belongs to the Adelaide Fringe 2025 season. This season is now over.

Jacob Jackman, a white man with handlebar mutton-chops and tired eyes holding a microphone opens his mouth wide. From within his mouth a pink fleshy neck extends a small grinning version of his head towards the mic. He is wearing a Hawaiian shirt and corduroy blazer.

Jacob Jackman - Inner Pieces

Legend has it that when James Cameron pitched the sequel to Alien, he wrote the title on a whiteboard, added an 'S', then put a line through the middle to make it a dollar sign. The rest is history$.

A sardonic look at self-improvement in the post-modern age, Jacob Jackman sits down with the world's first AI therapist (a program originally designed to help people cheat on their taxes) to make sense of the fractured and chaotic world we live in, and maybe write it off on tax.

Absurdist sketch comedy and incisive stand-up, Jacob extracts bits and chunks from the depths of human consciousness, and exposes them like jewelry in an overcoat.

Sometimes the pieces don't have to fit together, but like James Cameron pitching the sequel to Alien, sometimes the 'S' is a dollar sign.

Presented by: Jacob Jackman

Hailed as “hilarious, absurd, poignant, irreverent” (Upside Adelaide), “genuinely original andside-splitting” (Glam Adelaide), and “Weird” (Chortle), Jacob Jackman brings a dry slacker charm that ranges from the darkly philosophical to the gleefully absurd. When he’s not working in an Animal Crematorium, Jacob also co-hosts the podcast Ape Mania and illustrates a comic strip called Pissfeld.
Based in Adelaide South Australia, Jacob Jackman was a RAW Comedy National Finalist in 2019. In addition to performing stand-up comedy, he also produces and manages a number of regular gigs in Adelaide under the banner Laugh Lab. Often incisive and endearingly ridiculous, Jacob Jackman is equal parts weird and wit.
