Invitation to the Blues, the Music and Charm of Tom Waits
Kym Wilkinson is an Adelaide bassist who has been a Tom Waits fan for most of his life and in 2024 decided it was time to share the words and music of one of America’s most unique and underrated singer songwriters.
Enlisting Guitarist David Biggs (Biggsy) and Vocalist and musician Steve Charles, Kym has curated and arranged a showcase of the music and charm of Tom Waits.
“Invitation to the Blues” is a showcase of Tom's material from the 70’s to the 2000’s and has been carefully curated to highlight, not only his biggest and most popular hits, but also tracks from his fourteen plus albums, that show Tom's deep emotive understanding, underdog life and his lyrical genius.

Kym Wilkinson is an Adelaide based musician who has been playing bass professionally for 50 years and has had a hankering to play some of the best tunes ever written by Tom Waits. He has been lucky enough to team up with two world class musicians in Steve Charles and Davids Biggs and produce a great show that will appease audiences that are or are not familiar with the music of one of the most prolific songwriters of our generation.
