"If Fabrics Could Speak" On Tour!
Come see this award-winning film, created by artist Catherine Fitz-Gerald, who asks "If your fabric could speak, what story would it tell?" This powerful project explores our creative community’s memories, bound within the fabrics they treasure through 18 multicultural participants ages 17 to 90.
The 30-minute film, open captioned in English, includes stories in Auslan, Mandarin, and voices from First Nation and migrant communities.
Bring your own knitting, weaving, embroidery, lace, cultural or family fabric and share their stories.
Enjoy a cuppa, morning tea, and yarn (pun intended) with Catherine about your fabrics and the memories they hold, in a relaxed inclusive environment.
Workshop incursions available for schools upon request. Contact Schools Program Coordinator at schools@adelaidefringe.com.au.
Artist in residence from 5th to the 29th of March at Ngutungka West Lakes: share your fabric stories and be a part of this evolving audio-described exhibition.
