What happens when your place of birth decides who you should be in life?

In I Want To Be The World’s Greatest Magician, nothing unfolds the way the audience thinks it will. The format constantly shifts from close-up magic into monologue, mime, and moments of audience interaction. Based on the performer's experience with American Immigration, the story is told through magic tricks that act as metaphors, punctuating inter-connected stories about chasing dreams while navigating borders.

You’ll laugh at the ridiculousness. You’ll feel the frustration. And by the end, you’ll understand why stopping isn’t an option.

This is not an ordinary magic show. It’s a raw, intimate experience about belonging, ambition, and refusing to disappear.

An Off-Broadway performer, Annanya George was described as a ‘trouble-maker’ in the October 2024 issue of Genii, magic’s most prestigious magazine. Editor Jim Steinmeyer added, ‘His approach is funny, deeply personal, and wildly insightful’; a description that still fits everything George creates today. Over the last two decades, he has invented his own genre of magic, which he calls ‘Magic as Medium Agnostic’. With an emphasis on conceptual storytelling, George has worked across sculpture, film, and live performance, questioning the very form magic inhabits while carving a unique path for its future.
