This show belongs to the Adelaide Fringe 2024 season. This season is now over.

HIGH PONY - Mel & Sam smize down the barrel of the camera. They are dressed in Marie Antoinette-esque garb, with neck ruffles and opulent jewellery. They each sport a ridiculously long high pony tail on their heads and have coral and blue graphic eyeliner on.

HIGH PONY

Best Original Songs, Green Rooms
Best Cabaret, Adelaide Fringe
Golden Gibbo (N), MICF

What happens when Annie the Orphan, a cannibal (non-derogatory) and a netball team walk into a bar?

After pussy-poppin tours of ‘No Hat No Play’ and ‘Sh*t-Wrecked’, Mel & Sam are BACK and yanking you by ya ponytails through a chaotic hour of musical sketch. With all-original songs, characters that absolutely DON'T need a ballad (that’s you Angela Anaconda - you greyscale b*tch!) and the dirtiest synth lines …

This is high concept. High art. High pony.

Presented by: Mel & Sam

Mel & Sam are an award-winning musical comedy duo from Naarm/Melbourne bringing a razor-sharp, polished edge to the comedy scene (with equal measures of chaos!) They’re queer, horny, cheeky and unhinged, and here to stay. Having made a name for themselves with 3 shows ‘No Hat, No Play’, ‘Sh*t-Wrecked’ and now 'High Pony' (all of which have toured the country to sold-out crowds and critical acclaim), this duo are all about filling the hunger for some Gen Z f*ckery in the cabaret scene!

Together, they have a Spotify-Original podcast (‘Mel & Sam’) as well as a Green Room win for 'Best Original Songs'. They are nominees of the prestigious Golden Gibbo comedy award, winners of ‘Best Cabaret’ at Adl Fringe and are currently working on a number of projects for stage and screen!
