Looking for something to bring out your inner wild child for the 2018 Adelaide Fringe Season? Join us at GROUNDED - new precinct for kids and their adults during Adelaide Fringe 2018, Friday 16 February to Sunday 25 February.

GROUNDED will move into Victoria Square/ Tarntanyangga, to create new family friendly fringe hub. Offering free activities as well as ticketed international theatre shows, public art installations, GROUNDED is a safe comfortable environment that is creative, irreverent, daring and fun.

GROUNDED is the creative concept of David Sefton, the four-time artistic director of the Adelaide Festival, and produced by Insite Arts in association with Carclew.

The Opening Night of the precinct on Feb 16 will feature a strong indigenous cultural presentation on Kaurna country at Tarntanyangga (The Dreaming Place of the Red Kangaroo) Experience the Welcome to Country, performances by KURRURU, OF DESERT AND SEA DANCE all FREE.

At the heart of the GROUNDED experience are the international theatrical events SALTBUSH – CHILDREN’S CHEERING CARPET and THE SECRET LIFE OF SUITCASES. Catering to children aged 3 to 10, these joyful shows offer delightful interactive experiences for young children in purpose-built theatres.

FREE on site every day are interactive installation such as The Megaphone Project – a collection of red megaphones of many shapes and sizes and Gathered Tides brings together locally based Indigenous artists in a collaborative and cross-cultural weaving experience that highlights the significance of nurturing land & water.

GROUNDED will present an exclusive FREE outdoor screening of the award winning movie GIRL ASLEEP on Feb 24 based on the critically acclaimed production by Windmill Theatre. As the sun goes down over GROUNDED, families are invited to attend the pop up outdoor cinema and get amongst the summer vibes under a moonlit sky.

2018’s coolest one stop Fringe family entertainment precinct will offer an amazing array of delicious local food and beverages through a partnership with Adelaide Central Market traders. For full program information and updates visit the website.
