Gratiano

Theatre and Physical Theatre • Performance
United Kingdom
Bassanio has been murdered and Gratiano is under suspicion but, although he was never the hero, just a minor character, the plucky comic relief, he never played villain - or did he? Setting Shakespeare's tale in Mussolini's Fascist Italy this challenging sequel to 'The Merchant of Venice' explores the politics of prejudice in the modern age and, as a middle aged Gratiano is forced to comes to terms with his past, we get to see just who the true heroes and villains are.

From the team behind Edfringe Sell-out 'The Unknown Soldier'.
