Formosa Viva
★★★★ “Mesmerising, moving and magical” Theatre Weekly
★★★ “A thought-provoking 50 minutes on a crucial subject” The Scotsman
‘Formosa Viva’ is a bold fusion of contemporary dance, physical theatre and visual storytelling. This moving production traces 500 years of Taiwan’s history, from its Indigenous beginnings and colonial struggles to democracy and equality today.
Six female performers embody stories of resilience and transformation through powerful choreography and vibrant imagery. Each moment unfolds with rhythm, light and emotion, offering a glimpse into Taiwan’s living heritage.
After performing in Avignon and Edinburgh, this internationally touring dance work makes its Adelaide Fringe debut, taking audiences through Taiwan on a historic journey of culture, identity and hope.
