Folk Musical Band
Bangladeshi folk music, deeply rooted in Bengali culture, captures the joys and sorrows of rural life. The Art Academy Folk Musical Band, established on January 10, 2017, specializes in Baul and Sadhu styles, including Lalan Sangeet, to present Bengal’s rich folk traditions. Using traditional instruments like the ektara, dotara, dhol, and flute, the band brings fresh perspectives to these age-old songs for both local and international audiences.

I’m Mujibul Haque, a theater artist from Bangladesh with ten years of experience in acting, directing, and designing across Australia, India, and Bangladesh. As the Director at Art Academy, I blend traditional and modern art forms to create outstanding stage performances. Notable projects include the acclaimed 'Bhalobasa Pritilata' and plays like 'Amra Sabuj' and 'Hardhan’s Biye'. My stage designs have earned me a 2023 nomination for Best Stage Designer and have featured in popular TV shows. I've also contributed to stage planning and lighting for plays such as 'Putultikke Dhe Rekho' and 'Malua Premakhayan', and enhanced visual storytelling for leading Bangladeshi newspapers. Let’s connect if you’re passionate about using the arts to make a positive impact.
