flutesisters 'Antardhyaan'
This sublime performance of Indian classical music interweaves joy, serenity and introspection. The concert commences with ‘alap’, slowly introducing the raga followed by ‘jod’. Tabla then accompanies the flutes giving rhythm to the composition ‘gat’ as the pace slowly increases. The interpolation between the musicians creates a beautiful and meditative atmosphere. The performance ends with folk and devotional tunes of India evoking the joy of life.
The internationally acclaimed sisters are currently the only professional women flautists in Hindustani Classical Music. Their unique blend of tradition and innovation has mesmerised audiences across India and the world. For them, flute is life with its essence embedded in the legendary stories of Krishna who enchanted gopis with his flute.
