Eternal Optimist
It’s 2026 and tragically, comedy has become important. After years away from the festival circuit, Tim has decided it’s now time to ignore his young children and make light of the rising tide of fascism.
This show will contain no less than 20 excellent jokes, 3 delightful anecdotes, 2 illegal acts and 1 apology for Tim accidentally causing an absolutely dire current situation in his native Aotearoa.
Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, Tim refuses to accept the world is coming to an end.
Presented by: Tim Batt
Tim Batt, multi award-winning NZ comedian and podcaster, is coming to Adelaide for the first time as he returns to the festival circuit after a couple of years away raising his young kids. Now his youngest is two and thus can fend for himself. Tim is most famous for The Worst Idea of All Time, his decade-long podcast with Guy Montgomery that has over 20 million downloads and counting. He is the producer and co-creator of some of NZ's biggest comedy podcasts including The Male Gayz (hosted by Chris Parker and Eli Matthewson), Boners of The Heart (Rose Matafeo and Alice Snedden), Did Titanic Sink? (Carlo Ritchie and Tim Batt) and Socrates Walks Into A Bar (Ray O’Leary, Tim Batt & Nick Rado). He is a 2x Billy T award nominee and was the inaugural winner of the 1Cover Comedy Competition.
