This show belongs to the Adelaide Fringe 2026 season. This season is now over.

A clown with black and white face and glittering costume holding some big tissue like fabric wrapped around like a scarf. Looking to the distance with melancholic longing with a pale lilac background.

Crying Contralto

When a clown cries, they fill up a room with teardrops... and tissues.

Chanteuse. Clown. Crier. Alison Eaton, sings crying songs... or songs crying. Fusing jazz standards, vintage pop, antics and tissues in a cabaret for all the criers out there. Beautiful, surprising, hilarious – it will have you cry ‘til you laugh or laugh ‘til you cry!

If you watch sad movies and don't keep that lump in your throat prisoner. If you cry in public. If you cry when you are sad or happy, cry at beauty, cry for any occasion or cry in the mirror just because... this show is for you. BYO hanky.

Weekly shortlist for 'Best in Cabaret & Musical Theatre' at Sydney Fringe Festival 2025.
