Soothplayers are a Melbourne-based theatre company that specialise in improvising stories. Forming in 2015 they have performed their shows Completely Improvised Shakespeare and Completely Improvised Potter to sold out audiences across Australia. In 2019 Soothplayers were nominated for Best Comedy for Melbourne Fringe for Completely Improvised Shakespeare.
They have performed nearly two hundred new Shakespearean plays in festivals, schools, even weddings!
The troupe features members from Melbourne’s premiere Improvisation Companies including, Impro Melbourne, the Improv Conspiracy, the Big Hoo-haa! and graduates of the Victorian College of the Arts, Federation University and Chicago’s iO Theatre.
