Class Clowns

Melbourne International Comedy Festival's national comedy competition, Class Clowns, is back to inspire, engage, and elevate teenagers aged 14-18! Competition heats are held across the country and include a 2-hour workshop with guidance from a professional comedian.

All it takes is 3-5 minutes of original material in any genre—whether it’s stand-up, sketch, solo, group, musical, or physical comedy—the possibilities are endless!

Class Clowns is open to all Australian secondary students in Years 9-12 or 14-18 years old.

Routines should be original, well-rehearsed, avoid the offensive, and funny!

State final winners head to Melbourne for the National Grand Final where they compete for a massive $1,500 cash prize (and a workshop for their school).
