Chamber Pot Opera

Theatre and Physical Theatre • Opera

OPERA IN THE BATHROOM. Set in an actual bathroom, this new opera tells the story of three women who meet, bond and sing together. One woman is in an abusive relationship, the second woman is terrified that she ruined her first date, and the third has finally been promoted through the glass ceiling.

Chamber Pot Opera explores the witches, breeches and bitches roles in a safe space, allowing female characters to interrelate in a unique way.

Please note this is a seated event.

Presented by: bontom

bontom was founded by Thomas De Angelis and Samuel Boneham. The company is guided by principles that are emblematic of their style and central to the way bontom creates its work.

The aim of company is to be constantly working towards the achievement of three specific objectives. The three objectives are applicable to all aspects of production. They are:
• the production of work that is new and original;
• the development of emerging talent; and
• a commitment to producing work of the highest quality.

In the past, bontom has staged works that seek to engage in a critical dialogue on contemporary issues. At its basic level, this process requires considered experimentation, the substance of which involves the risk of new and original work. It is through a proliferation of new and original material that a contemporary audience can be targeted and reached.
