CELEBRATE AFRICAN MUSIC & CULTURE

Coming from Ghana, we are privileged to have Appiah Annan (having last year, performed with Asanti Dance Theatre at Womadelaide 2023) joining Ras Minano with the Hope of Africa band to bring an amazing Ghanaian musical extravaganza. Featuring traditional instruments, including Kora, Djembe, Kpanlogo and Konogo, this will be an experience to remember.

Appiah Annan is a rare talent originating from Ghana, West Africa. An accomplished kora player, he will delight audiences with music from this unique instrument. You will be delighted by his diverse forms of dance, along with his impressive skills as a master drummer using both stick and hand drums.

Also hailing from Ghana, Ras Minano is an accomplished Afroreggae/Afrobeats and World Music artist and has achieved international recognition winning the USA WAM Reggae/World Music Song of the Year Award in 2020 with his song Africa Oseeyeii and in 2021 with his song WOMBA.

Ras is powered by his Band The Hope of Africa, a collective of awesome and very talented Adelaide based musicians and together they bring World Music to the stage.  Joining the band will feature, from South Africa, the beautiful Mmaleetjema ‘Elsie’ Shirley Masehela. Enjoy the unique, African sounds, and dance along to the music. This will be an event to remember!
