Mark Metaphor stands in front of a microphone on stage at a bar's variety show. A video plays behind him of a famous cowboy pistol duel from a spaghetti western movie. Mark extends an index finger, no doubt articulating an insightful point.
The combined logos for several of the night’s shows, side-by-side. The logo for the first two nights, GUNSLINGING GAME THEORY 1 & 2, is a black and white silhouette through the legs of one cowboy. We can see another cowboy they are in a duel with. Laid over the top, are mathematical formulae, graphs & patterns, like equations on a chalk board in a math professor's office. The logo for GAMES PEOPLE PLAY is like a black and white checkerboard. Some of the tiles spell out “games people play” and the other tiles contain iconic symbols for games and sports, like a baseball, basketball, chess pieces & poker cards.
The combined logos for the last two nights of the series. The logo for HITCHCOCK’S TROPES is a three-by-three grid in a black & white checkerboard design. Inside each tile is an iconic symbol from an Alfred Hitchcock film: a lighter, a pistol, some keys, a noose, a wad of cash. Next to this logo is the one for NIGHTMARE @ 20,000 FEET. It is a similar three-by-three black & white tiled grid. Each of the nine tiles has a single letter in it so that the whole thing spells out “NIGHTMARE”. The font looks like it is made from shattered glass & is reminiscent of cheesy sci-fi shows from the 1960s.
