Presented by: Joanne Petit-Frere
JoGoesWest Studios, founded by multidisciplinary artist Joanne Petit-Frère, is a research-based art and design house exploring braiding as a sculptural, cinematic, and spiritual language. Through handcrafted synthetic-fiber architectures, performance, and film, the studio examines diasporic design systems linking beauty, labor, and lineage. Each work functions as a living archive—where material research, ancestral practice, and speculative design meet. JoGoesWest activates the braid as both structure and story, re-defining craft as a site of continuity, sovereignty, and imagination.
