Big Mike and DJ JayJay are the BEAT BOYZ - the drag king, party boy, alter-egos of Roxie Halley and Michele Owen.

Move over Corey Worthington, it's 2008 and these best mates are throwing the most feral, the most infamous backyard house party of the decade. It's going to be so WILD and out of control, Big Mike and DJ JayJay are headed straight for the news, legend status, and living out their dreams (fingers crossed).

BEAT BOYZ is part drag, part narrative, part improv, and all chaos.

The BEAT BOYZ are the drag king alter-egos of performers Roxie Halley and Michele Owen. They met while training in clown and physical theatre, leading to the creation of their 2024 Melbourne Fringe clown show ‘Spoonfools’. Roxie is a film director and improviser who premiered her debut solo character sketch show ‘Good Girl’ at the 2024 Melbourne International Comedy Festival where she was nominated for ‘Best Solo Performance’ in the Dionysus Awards that same year. Michele is an Australian born and raised clown, and she spent 15 years in the United States where her duo comedy show ‘Entertain Me!’ won the “Sold Out Award” at Rogue Festival. She co-wrote and performed in ten original shows as a company member with Oakland-based Ragged Wing Ensemble.
