South Australia

Returning from a sold-out 2021 Fringe season, AWO presents the best music from your favourite films played live.

"Touched with an unmistakeable rhythmical punch" (AdelaideNow.com.au), Adelaide Wind Orchestra is renowned for show-stopping performances, as one of Australia's leading wind orchestras. With a program bigger than Ben Hur featuring the music of Oscar-winners John Williams, Hildur Guðnadóttir & more, it's a show for all movie lovers. AWO will be covering music from leading composers from films spanning the twentieth and twenty-first centuries featuring favourites from the franchises, such as Star Wars and Marvel universes, but also lesser known but equally well crafted works of art.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the "world class ensemble in our midst" (Barefoot Review).

Presented by: Adelaide Wind Orchestra

The Adelaide Wind Orchestra (AWO) seeks to unite, educate, challenge, and enrich the South Australian public through the engaging and transformative power of music. Established 2012, AWO was founded by graduates of the Elder Conservatorium of Music, connecting distinguished alumni with professional, pre-professional and dedicated amateur wind, brass and percussionists who strive to perform music to a high standard of excellence. Seeking to continue and progress the legacy of that ensemble’s distinguished director, the late Robert ‘Bob’ Hower (1953-2019), our performances have been described as "ever inventive" (The Advertiser) and "world class" (The Barefoot Review). Our vision is to be a leading professional symphonic wind ensemble maintaining our deep links with the Elder Conservatorium
