Adelaide Fringe 2021

AGAINST MEDICAL ADVICE with Dr Kim Le

Hi, I'm Dr Kim Le. Relive my hilarious hospital stories, experience the fun of "group therapy" with comedians. Despite popular belief, LAUGHTER was not approved by the Therapeutics Goods Administration, so is not really the "best medicine". If you, (like everyone who survived the pandemic of 2020) are seriously lacking in Vitamin F for "Funny", come see my show for a booster-shot of medical humour*. Importantly, find out how stand up comedy helps me keep "medical burnout" at bay. Comedy is hard, but practicing medicine can be brutal!

Results may vary. If you are prone to jaw pain or urinating whilst laughing, your attendance is contraindicated!

*Since many medical colleagues rarely get out for live shows, certificates can be provided for Continuing Medical Education (CME) Points.

Dr Kim Le is an Australian medical doctor by day & stand up comedian by night. Kim was nominated for Adelaide Comedy's "Rising Starr" Best Newcomer award in 2018. In 2019, Kim performed in the Next Generation Comedy Show at the Adelaide Fringe & his sold out solo show at Sydney Fringe "Not Medical Advice" at the notorious Kings Cross Hotel (where all proceeds went to The University of Sydney Andrew Tu Scholarship). In 2020, live comedy caught COVID & was placed in ICU, so Kim returned to medicine, where his patients made a great audience. He has a TEDx Talk and is host of the interactive documentary film "Are You Addicted to Technology?" for SBS on Demand to be released in early 2021. Pop Up Comedy Adelaide is an independently curated comedy show with a different line up every month!
