The Adelaide Comedy Gala is back for its 17th year, lighting up The Arkaba Hotel with a massive lineup of Australian comedians. Each year, a crew of hilarious and generous acts take to the stage, donating their time to raise funds and awareness for the Sammy D Foundation. Past performers include Rove McManus, Fiona O’Loughlin, Peter Helliar, Tom Gleeson, Hans, Dilruk Jayasinha and Arj Barker. The life of 17 year-old Sam Davis was tragically cut short when he fell victim to a violent and unprovoked one punch assault. Sam’s parents started the Foundation as his legacy with the aim of providing information, knowledge and tools to young people in order to prevent such a tragedy from happening again. To date the Sammy D Foundation have educated over 300,000 young people about the impacts of bullying, violence, and the risks associated with alcohol and other drug misuse, and provided 1:1 mentoring support to over 500 young people in South Australia.Suitability & warnings
