A Soundmap of Karrawirraparri
In association with Soundstream New Music, local composer and sound artist Jesse Budel presents a new surround sound work, 'A Soundmap of Karrawirraparri', which explores the soundscapes of the eponymous river that traverses the Adelaide Hills and Plains. Weaving the acoustic environments on the river's banks and waters from source to sea, the work features immersive ambisonic recordings and hydrophone (underwater) recordings of the river's aquatic life and historical developments.
This work forms part of a trilogy of works that is supported by Jesse's 2024 Arts South Australia Fellowship, as well as an Inspiring SA Grant.
