A Night of Jazz with the SPOC Big Band

Celebrate the SPOC Big Band’s first birthday with a night of big band jazz guaranteed to cure that midweek blues! This 18-piece ensemble makes its Adelaide Fringe debut with a mix of swing, funk, Latin, and contemporary tunes, featuring soloists, guest artists, and a stage bursting with energy!

The St Peter’s Old Collegians (SPOC) Music Program unites passionate young musicians, providing space to rehearse, perform, and grow. Over the past year, the Big Band has built a strong repertoire and community, ready to deliver an exciting one-night-only show!

More than just a concert, this is a celebration of music as connection between styles, people, and generations. Feel the pulse of a new generation keeping big band music alive, and come to 'A Night of Jazz with SPOC Music'!

SPOC Music, formed in 2025, provides rehearsal, performance, and connection opportunities for young musicians - mainly St Peter’s College graduates, though open to all recent high school graduates. The program was created to give emerging musicians the chance to continue performing and developing their skills after school, filling a gap in Adelaide’s music scene, particularly for big bands. By offering regular performance opportunities, mentorship, and collaboration, SPOC Music supports the broader music industry while fostering community, creativity, and connection among musicians and audiences alike. This vibrant program aims to inspire the next generation of performers and bring people together through live music.
