A Migrant's Son Desert Tour

Award winning, original musical cabaret exploring one of the most colourful times in Australian history: the arrival of the Greeks!

With a story that millions can relate to, critically acclaimed performer Michaela Burger [ROUGE/Exposing Edith] pays tribute to her Greek migrant family and her father Luke, in a tale traversing 100 years from turn-of-the-century Russia to the Australian outback.

An incredible true story that celebrates the ingenuity, tragedy and triumph of the migrant experience, brought to life with original music, a live band and local community singers.

Described by Kate Ceberano as “an asset to cabaret”, Burger is the recipient of the Frank Ford award 2019, Best Cabaret Adelaide Fringe, House of OZ bursary and has been nominated for two Helpmann Academy Awards for Best Performer.

She is the co-writer and star of the successful stage show Exposing Edith. Her award-winning cabaret, A migrant’s Son has received critical acclaim and she's part of the creative team of Simply Brill – premiered for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

Burger has performed with one of Broadway’s most sophisticated writers, Jason Robert Brown, and has shared the stage with Australia’s own Tina Arena, Caroline O'Connor and Meow Meow.

Some recent credits include Aftertaste (ABC TV/Closer Productions), Twelfth Night (Shakespeare South) and Rumpelstiltskin (London/SA).
