Nayima Hassan, of Egyptian descent, is SA’s leading lady of Belly Dance having performed over 8,000 shows & taught over 6,000 classes. By invitation she has performed for rock stars, royalty & celebrities to include Mick Jagger, Prince Edward & Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Nayima began her stellar career in 1987 with a local debut at the Arts Theatre. She has since travelled extensively often receiving extended performance contracts. Celebrated nationally & internationally as a world class entertainer & an inspiring teacher, Nayima continues to perform regularly as audiences of all ages & cultures remain captivated by her magnificent dance of Egypt.
Nayima established her school in Adelaide in 1995. Set within a historic 1860’s church at 240 Franklin Street, the studio is adorned with exotic décor & grand statues. The Academy is globally unique as a shrine to the dance of her Egyptian heritage. Experience an ancient art with a modern twist at SA’s own little Egypt in the heart of Adelaide.
