1970 - The Year Music Changed Forever

On April 10th, 1970, Paul McCartney announced the break-up of The Beatles! Who would dominate the charts now? Prophetically, Creedence Clearwater Revival played two sold out shows at the Royal Albert Hall just a few days later and had a string of top ten hits. Elton John released both the Elton John album and Tumbleweed Connection in 1970. The Carpenters album, Close to You, Tea for the Tillerman (Cat Stevens), and Led Zeppelin III were all released in 1970. Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt and Simon and Garfunkel were still ruling the airwaves, and in Australia John Farnham, Daddy Cool, and Master's Apprentices were capturing the mood of the new decade. Join Adelaide band, What About Jeff? as we celebrate many of the hits of 1970 - The Year Music Changed Forever.
