Fuccbois: Live in Concert was an absolutely brilliant show! The entire tent was in hysterics from the second the house lights went down. It was creative, original and brilliantly executed. Absolute credit to everyone involved and everything that is good about Adelaide Fringe!!!
It’s one of those shows that’s hard to explain, Fuccbois: Live in Concert is technically a front row seat at the farewell concert of the global mega-stars “The Fuccbois”. For the uninitiated, the Fuccbois are a boy band of Gen Z British lads whose personalities were constructed in test tubes by record company executives and would microwave their balls if a podcaster from the manosphere told them to.
Why are we signing up for this?
Because ARIA award winner Bridie Connell, together with music producer Dave Muratore are able to employ their combined satirical superpowers to make this performative masculinity at its absolute worst riotously funny!
Bridie has created an hour of original lyrics that are witty, nuanced and funny AF. Absolute masterclass in Satire. The reference points for the jokes were coming from all sorts of places. The imagery was as unexpected as it was hilarious. Weaving some very different strands together in a show that ostensibly presented as light comedy showcased Bridie’s incredible intelligence as a comedy writer!
The lyrics were turned into something special by music producer Dave Muratore. Dave took each song from notes on a page to independently produced tracks that would not be out of place on commercial radio. The show sounded like an international pop concert!
The performers playing the Fuccbois took what Bridie and Dave had created for them and created something epic.
The singing was amazing!
The dancing was amazing!
The acting was amazing!
The energy & charisma coming from the stage was crazy good. Absolute credit to a really strong cast. I literally did not stop screaming the whole show! And I very much wasn’t the only one! Fangirling was rife within tent, as was hysterical laughter and completely ruined mascara! Note for the Fuccbois, future advertising advise your fans to go for waterproof!
Fuccbois: Live in Concert is a fast paced satirical comedy about the end result of giving four man babies everything they have wanted for ten years and calling that a pop band. The success of this show came from everyone working together so well.
The Script.
The Music.
The Performers.
This show was one a new idea executed really well by excellent artists and it warms my soul to know that this kind of show is still out there.
Absolutely Brilliant. Must See!
Adelaide Fringe is over but the Fuccbois are kicking on to Melbourne Comedy Festival.
If you are in Melbourne. Dont think… just book your tickets!!
