The crowd at Hindley Street Music Hall was very happy to welcome cabaret megastar Reuben Kaye back to Adelaide Fringe on Friday Night.

He arrived in full force with a signature snarl and a roaring vibrato. The political commentary he is known for was topical, intelligent, nuanced and absolutely scathing.

Kaye belted out intelligently crafted lyrics and monologues with a confidence and charisma only this human is capable of. He was able to purvey a huge amount of information to an audience in an easy to digest format. Which feels necessary in the current climate!

Kaye put on a masterclass in comedic crowd work. He was charming, comfortable and warm with his audience and this contributed to a great environment full of laughter.

Reuben Kaye is the cabaret superstar we need right now. He’s intelligent enough to “call it like he sees it” and improve a conversation. I love that for us. The man can SING and he’s funny AF!!

What more could a girl ask for in her icons!

Absolutely Brilliant Show!!! Funny! High Energy! Intelligent!!!

You should definitely get tickets for this!

You can catch Reuben Kaye at The Hindley Street Music Hall tonight (21 March)!
