London Calling is a love letter ostensibly to the European City whimsically composed by the host and lead protagonist Ben. He explains the show is based on a childhood visit to London to see his grandfather. Ben recounted blissful memories of that visit as they were tied to his obviously close relationship with his grandfather and the fabric of the famous city. Which is when it became obvious to me, what drew Ben to the City was the culture. The architecture, the stories, the characters, the street performers or more simply put the magic. This idea of a city as a whimsical living breathing lead is really strong in London calling and I think the production is stronger for it.

The show featured some of the best circus, acrobatic and cabaret performers I have seen all Fringe. They had the audience on the edge of their seats whilst they were performing in utter disbelief at what was happening on stage. The acts were high energy,  engaging and really easy to watch. Also worth noting that this show is G rated so good wholesome fun if you are looking for a cool circus that’s a little less adults only.

London Calling was a great Cabaret Circus in Gluttony. It was jam packed with some amazing people that I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for in pending shows.

There is still time to see London Calling next week if you hurry and get tickets.
