Experience an intense celebration of Australian rock, bringing the anthems that shaped generations to the live stage.

Firstly, a big thanks to the Adelaide Fringe for sending us a media pass to cover the 2026 season! As we reach the second-to-last week of the Fringe (this year is already going by so quickly!), it's time to spotlight a show that celebrates both music and Australian history and culture. Long Way to The Top absolutely delivers on both, offering an impressive ensemble.

Fronted by radio personality Dave Gleeson, the performance showcases his musical background with bands such as The Screaming Jets and The Angels. With backing vocals and a four-piece band, the team provided some classic dad rock songs. Weaving between various eras of rock, the audience got to vibe to songs from AC/DC, Powderfinger, Nick Cave, INXS, Kylie Managoe, and Jimmy Barnes. The setlist is more or less what you'd expect to pop up either at your family's BBQ or while at the Woolshed on Hindley Street! Gleeson and his band hit every note without a single error, with a special shoutout to vocalist Laura, who also showcased her talents on various instruments.

Overall, Long Way to The Top was a fun rendition of dad rock, with a talented team bringing the vibes from their audience. If you're after some live music during the chaos that is Mad March, I'd highly recommend seeing Long Way to The Top.
