Lost in Translation takes different classic film scripts, runs them through an online translator a dozen times, and then read the results live on stage in character! The final twist is that the guest stars read the scripts on stage for the first time.

The latest victim to the online translator is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets! Harry Potter becomes Barry Crockery, Draco Malfoy becomes Draco Milfoy, Dumbledore becomes Prime Minister, and Hogwarts becomes Pigpimples! There is variation in some of the names provided by the online translator throughout the script: Voldemort starts as goldilocks, but then becomes Voldetort and Voldetortle in the final scenes; Goyle is mentioned once as Gargoyle before becoming Google. If you’ve done the homework, it’s not an issue.

There is a lot of adult humour and innuendo, so perhaps don’t bring the kids with you, but it’s the best laugh out loud hour I’ve experienced in a long time. With 11 more movies in the catalogue to work through and close proximity to Gluttony & the Garden, be sure to add this show to your Planner if you still have space… I might even come back for another round!
