Nath Valvo is back from the South African Jungle. He’s deep conditioned the ICK of his hair and life is starting to make sense again.
Valvo’s uses every string in his bow (as well as some whole new strings) to create great comedy from his harrowing jungle experiences and some tangentially related traumas. And he does it in that cynical, sarcastic but oh so relatable way is signature Valvo. I love it.
A huge part of what made this show great was Valvo’s stage presence. He was high energy, confident and charismatic. Valvo used his physicality to perfection to create a dynamism to the show that is sometimes lacking in a comedy show. It should go without saying he was hilarious, but incase it doesn’t that was me saying it.
Valvo very quickly built a relationship with the audience. He was able to utilise that relationship to support his jokes with punctuated crowd work that felt conversational and natural and created such a great atmosphere. Love the improv work.
Homebody is one in a line of great comedy specials from Nath Valvo!
If you loved him in the Jungle, You will love him even more in the Garden. I guarantee it.
