A completely sold-out crowd packed into The Moa at Gluttony for Swamplesque, and from the very first moment it was clear the audience was ready for the ride. The energy in the room was electric, with every seat filled and the crowd fully invested in the outrageous fairytale parody unfolding on stage.

This production delivers exactly what great Fringe cabaret should: bold comedy, jaw-dropping circus, and powerhouse musical moments wrapped into one wildly entertaining spectacle.

Tash York commands the stage as the Fairy Godmother with undeniable presence and exceptional vocals. Her performance is magnetic—effortlessly blending humour, attitude and vocal power that cuts through the room and keeps the audience hanging on every moment.

Matthew Pope’s aerial performance is nothing short of breathtaking. His routine combines technical precision with theatrical flair, leaving the audience in visible shock and awe as he soars above the stage. It’s one of those moments where the entire room collectively holds its breath.

The show leans fully into its burlesque, drag and circus parody style, delivering outrageous humour, clever character moments and dazzling physical performances. The cast feeds off the audience’s enthusiasm, creating a shared experience that feels spontaneous, chaotic in the best way, and completely unforgettable.

Swamplesque proves that sometimes the sequel really is bigger, bolder and even more unhinged than the original. A spectacularly entertaining night that had the crowd cheering from start to finish.
